Hello,

i'm having issue with big VM to backup on slow hardware. I have read that a new option now exist to customize the TTL of snapshot.

Maximum volume snapshot life time is now customizable using the hvSnapshotLifeTimeHour (DWORD) registry value. Default value is 72 hours, but customization may be necessary to allow full backup of very large VMs on slow backup hardware.

Bug where do you place this REG Key?

It should be configured on the backup server > HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Veeam\Veeam Backup and Replication\

do you know what is ther Max value for this Key?

I'm not sure, but I would recommend to double this value as 144 hours should be sufficient to cover the backup window.

Do I have to restart the veeam services after applying this reg setting? I am asking because our backup is currently running, and I know it will take more than 72 hours..

Yes, Veeam backup service should be restarted for the key to take effect.
