Hello guys,
In our company we are thinking about Hyper-converged using Storage Spaces Direct in Windows Server 2016 solution implementation: https://technet.microsoft.com/en-us/win ... erver-2016. We planning to use setup with Nano servers.
How Veeam will work with this kind of setup? Where are Veeam components should be deployed to have optimal performance? That advantages or disadvantages we will have with this setup?
Maybe someone already tried this solution and can share their experience.
Thank you.

Re: Hyper-V converged using Storage Space Direct + Veeam
Very interested to the see the responses to this...
I'll guess at what I think might happen - I bet it will process on-host similar to how it currently works.
S2D is very interesting technology - I want to see how it compares to Nutanix.

Me too.
I'm really excited about this S2D and Datacenter scenario.
I agree with JoshRountree, that B&R will most likely be similar to the current process. The nano servers are used for compute and storage clustering, where VMs will be running on top of. So basically only the underlying storage solution changes, the VM itself and it's virtualization platform are not changing. (presuming B&R is supporting Server 2016 )
Maybe it is a good idea to setup an S2D nano compute storage cluster virtually and try to backup against it...

Maybe somebody from Veeam guys can comment more about Veeam integration with this technology?
