Hyper-V failed connect via WMI 'failed credentials'
Hello
We have just installed Veeam 6, accepting defaults, on Windows Server 2008 R2 SP1.
I'm trying to add a server 'Hyper-V standalone' using the local administrator account, and we recieve the following error:
Unable to connect Via WMI.HostName:[xx.xx.xx.xx]
User credentials cannot be used for local connections
I have tryied setting up a new account with full administrative rights and recieve the same erorr.
FireWall is turned off. Also, if i click 'Ports' button, all components show failed to connect.

Hello Matt,
Could you please tell me if you're trying to add Hyper-V host, where Veeam B&R server is installed?
Thank you!

Yes, we have Veeam installed on the host server running 3 vm's.
I had been trying to add the server as a 'Microsoft Hyper-V server (standalone).
So, I tried adding the server as a 'Microsoft Hyper-V cluster and receive the same error in the following topic.
RPC Error adding Hyper-V Server http://forums.veeam.com/viewtopic.php?f=25&t=9991
Firewall is turned off, and I tried to disable the anitvirus, but we still get the error.

Re: Hyper-V failed connect via WMI 'failed credentials'
Hello All,
I know this thread is old and probably different, but I ran into this issue in my test environment when I executed a "files to tape" job.
I get the following error;
"Failed to create shadow copy for G: Error: User credentials can not be used for local connections".
G here indicates the G:\ of my physical VB&R and Tape server.
My environment:
-Tape Server: Dell R320 (VB&R server)
-Tape library: NEC LTO5 LL009F Autoloader (directly connected to the above server via SAS cable)
-SAS Card: HP Smart Array P212 (identified as NIC2 by the OS for reasons unknown)
-Tape drive: IBM ULTRIUM-HH5 SCSI sequential device
-Media changer: NEC LL009F Media changer
I have not created any user and therefore logs in as the administrator. I do not understand the above error.
Your comments will be very much appreciated.
Thanks.

Yes, this is an old thread and I'm not sure this error message is the same as in the OPs case. Anyway, thanks for reusing the same thread and let's ask for assistance from our support team. Once you open a ticket, please post your case ID over here for future reference. Thanks!
