Hyper-V Hotfixes

This isn't Veeam specific but I wanted to share it since I've seen some other posts regarding hotfixes.

This Microsoft KB article includes recommended hotfixes that cover Hyper-V and other clusters https://support.microsoft.com/en-us/kb/2920151

However, I've run into cases where I hit an issue and there is a hotfix but it's not in the recommended list. For the last 6 months or so I have been tracking the RSS feed that covers all hotfixes released for Windows Server 2012 R2. While not every hotfix applies to every environment, I've been tracking all the hotfixes that I think might apply to Hyper-V servers and what they update in a spreadsheet. I thought this list might be useful for other people so I put the spreadsheet on OneDrive and made it viewable publically here

I don't necessarily apply every hotfix as soon as it comes out, but I've definitely used this list to identify hotfixes that are relevant to my Hyper-V hosts that aren't necessarily in the recommended list. Hopefully this helps some other admins out! You can also use this list to help you determine whether any updates that Veeam recommends are actually applicable to your servers. Sometimes Veeam recommends specific hotfixes, but I've already installed another hotfix that supersedes the one Veeam recommends.
