Hyper-V Restoring VM

Post by robnoper »

Under evaluation i have backed up a couple of VM's and want to start testing restores.

When i do the restore full VM and set it to have a new name and not connected to the network, how do i tell it what CSV to put it on on the Hyper-V host?

What is the recommended method to do this type of restore?

Thanks

Hi Gary, when restoring VM to a location different from original, you get an option to specify the volume for each VM file (see page 134 of User Guide for version 6.1). And when restoring VM to the original location, the product will take care of the correct placement by itself. Thanks!

I have B&R installed on a separate physical 2008 box that i do all my backups on. It is not a hyper-V host so it only shows the local drives I believe on the backup box not on the hosts.
