Hyper-V support

Post by rogersillars » Jan 25, 2011 2:39 am

Hi there

I'm just researching the option of changing from VMware to Hyper-V. Is there going to be support for Hyper-V at any stage soon in Veeam Backup and Replication?

I noted on your blog in 2009 there was interest but I haven't seen anything else http://www.veeam.com/blog/veeam-announc ... per-v.html

Thanks,
Roger

Hi Roger, yes - we are actively working on adding Hyper-V support to Veeam Backup & Replication and this should be available later this year. Thanks!

Hi Gostev. Thanks for that. Should we be expecting similar features as with ESX?

Gradually - yes, we will add all the same features (to the extent of what Hyper-V will allow us to do with its feature set). But of course we will not have everything in the very first release - it is absolutely new platform, and most features cannot be ported easily. However, what we will have immediately will already be times better (from technical standpoint) than anything else currently available on the market for Hyper-V backup (at least as of today, and to the best of our knowledge of major players). Thanks.

Hi,

I was just wondering if there were any release dates for this at all?

Thanks
