Hyper-V VM Copy Job - ID

Hello,

I'm decommissioning 2 Hyper-V hosts. I need to move servers off one host an onto the other.
A replication job works well, but what I have found is that the server ID changes. The server boots perfectly and runs, but the current Veeam backup chain doesn't as the server/ disk ID has changed. This initiates a full backup again.

Will a VM Copy job, just copy the server leaving this intact?

Regardless of migration method used, VM moved to new host will be recognized as new one, unless both hosts are added to backup console via SCVMM. Thanks.
