Importing vbk:item with the same key has already been added

Hi,

I'm using VeeamZip to backup to an external disk. I need to restore a VM but when I import the .vbk file into Veeam it doesn't error but no backup is available to restore from.

Alternatively I have tried to restore from file and receive the error "an item with the same key has already been added". Other VM's restore ok, but not this one.

Any help appreciated.

Hi Mark,

Can you clarify what you see when trying to do the restore?
What the status of the imported backup (VBK file)? What is the size of the VBK you've imported?

Hi,

I right click on the file in Explorer and select extract. This opens B&R and a dialogue displaying two entries for the VM (I'm assuming this is because a snapshot existed when it was backed up). I select one of the entries (either one) in the list and click Restore. This gives me an option of restoring to Azure, Entire VM, VM Files or Guest Files. I select either Entire VM or VM Files and after a brief pause, receive the error mentioned above instead of the Full VM Restore Wizard.

Didn't raise a support issue and I think the fault was with a bad backup file in the end.
