I've Instant recovery working though a NAS share on my StoreOnce. It is unusably slow, in addition, it cripples IOPS on all other VMs on the Storage you are restoring to, while the Instant VM restore is running.

It is essentially different for Catalyst, since it was specifically optimized in 3.15.1 to allow for faster Instant Recovery.
