issue backup vm's on hyper v cluster 2016

I have added a new 2016 hyper v cluster to my veeam server, where I backup the vm's through an off-host proxy. There is no issue with this proxy because I can backup the vm's on my other 2012R2 clusters with no problem.
I receive the following error when I backup the vm"s on the 2016 cluster :

"Unable to select backup proxy. Failover to on-host mode is disabled, and there are no suitable proxies for off-host backup available"

Mind he note. Offhost proxy and the Hyper-V host should run the same version. The off-host proxy is probably 2012R2.

Yes the offhost proxy is 2012R2, sow I should create an off-host proxy with 2016 OS?

Yes. I'm not sure though if you have hypervisors of mixed OS, if Veeam is smart enough to pick an offhost-proxy that has the same OS version, but my guess is that they certainly thought of that.
