Hello
We backup some VM-s on a couple of standalone Hyper-V hosts and after upgrading from Veeam v11 to v12 none of those backups jobs succeeds. They fail with a timeout error (Error: Completion timeout occurred”). I have registered a support case (case ID: #06063664) where I was told there is a known issue with the setting “Run server on this side”. I do not know if this just affects standalone Hyper-V hosts, but we do have a Hyper-V cluster also with the same “Run server on this side” checked without any issue.
If I interpreted the response from support correctly, this is not a particularly high prioritized issue. Is this correct? Changing this setting is not an options fore us, so we have set up a temporary solution where we use Veeam agents on the VMs, but this is not good enough. I would like to know if it’s possible to get a notification when this fix is released. It would also be great to have an estimated time on release.
Thanks.

Re: Known issue with "Run server on this side" in Veeam 12
Hello
Welcome to the forum.
I have replaced your contract number with a case number.
Each problem/bug will get our attention. When there is an easy workaround, then the fix doesn't get the highest priority. But the bug will still be fixed as soon as possible.
I understand in your case the workaround will not work because of internal policies.
We (PM Team) cannot provide personal notification for fixes in technical issues outside of support cases. But I can try to update this topic when v12a is released and the fix is included.
Best,
Fabian

The fix is planned for v12a. But there is no release date window estimation I can provide you with yet.I would like to know if it’s possible to get a notification when this fix is released. It would also be great to have an estimated time on release.

Anything new on this issue? I have the same issue backing up a server outside my network.

This issue seems to be fixed in the last update, Veeam 12.1
