Hi
We're migrating a lot of VMs running on Hyper-V 2012R2 to a new cluster running Hyper-V 2016. All managed bij SCVMM and because of some crashes in the past with Storage Live Migration, we're using VEEAM Replication to migrate. The disadvantage is that the replicated VM is a "new VM" to the backup. So we need to add the new VM to the backup job, but since a lot has changed for image level backups with 2016, I'm wondering if it is wise to create a fully new job holding only VMs that are running on Hyper-V 2016, or is there no issue mixing the 2012R2 and 2016 VMs?

Hi Gabrie,
There are no factors that might impact the functionality in cases when you backup VMs residing at hypervisors of different versions in a single job.
Thanks
