Hi everyone,
I am new to Veeam and backing up VMs.
My environment is one physical server running Windows 2019 Server and two HyperV VM (one DC and one app) running on it. My backup repository will sit on a Synology NAS.
So, my question is where to install the Veeam software if I want to backup all three machines (one physical and two VM)? I'd really only like to do this once, and follow best practices.
Thanks in advance.

Re: new to Veeam, need to backup Win 19 Server with two HyperV VM
Hello,
and welcome to the forums.
VBR should be installed inside a VM. I explained the "why" in a similar thread some days ago topic70982.html
I also recommend to check the quick start guide: https://helpcenter.veeam.com/docs/backup/qsg_hyperv/
Best regards,
Hannes
