I have a file backup job which appears to not be behaving.
This job backs up a particular folder on a file server to USB storage, with the storage rotated daily.
The drive letters sometimes jump about, and although I've followed the guide and switched on the "this repository is backed by rotated drives" option in the repository, it isn't detecting the change of letter. The job fails with "Backup repository is not available".
The only way to get it working is to change the USB drive letter to that which matches the repository location. Then it runs happily.
Just want to check I've not missed something setting this up.

Re: Not detecting drive letter changes
Mark,
It looks like you might be using new drives that haven't been registered with Veeam Backup and Recovery configuration database. See the note and screenshot below:

The documentation that I grabbed that from is below:
https://helpcenter.veeam.com/docs/backu ... #detection
Hope that helps.

Re: Not detecting drive letter changes
Thanks for the reply Jason, all the drives in the set have been used at least once (changing the drive letter to match the first time where necessary) so I would now be expecting B&R to be detecting them?

Re: Not detecting drive letter changes
Hey Mark
The feature should work as Jason has mentioned.
If not, please open a support case and let us know the case number. The debug logs will show our customer support engineers what's happening in the backend.
Best,
Fabian
