one VM not backing up AT ALL - ID #00888466

Post by thatguycraig »

Morning guys

opened this case a few days back but heard nothing, also emailed my tech guy at your end to ask him - but nothing back as of yet either, so thought ID give this a shot. I still am in trial period, but I WILL be buying in the next couple days, dependent on if i can get this one VM to work.

Let me start buy saying that I'm running a reverse incremental, backing up 15 VM's across 3 hosts, and its working really well, very impressed with the de-duplication and compression.

One of my servers, which is our mail server that runs the Mdeamon client, and is running Windows Server 2003, will not backup at all. I get the error(s):

Code: Select all

[b][warning] 28/04/2015 07:40:10 :: Failed to get AutoRecovery changes for disk F:\hyper-v\vs-023\Virtual Hard Disks\vs-023-scsi0-mdaemon.vhdx. change tracking will be disabled for the next job run

[warning] 28/04/2015 07:42:19 :: Failed to get unaccounted changes for disk vs-023-scsi0-mdaemon.vhdx. Change tracking is disabled

Many thanks

Craig, such issues should be investigated with support as require deep logs analysis. Please wait for their response and keep in mind that users on a trial get support based on staff availability.

Any chance you've changed the disk size on live VM recently? You can try to turn it off and on again, this should fix the file size issue.

Kind of an old post, but I happen to have the same issue.
What exactly do you mean with "turning it off and on again"? Should I reboot the guest, the host or both?

I meant shutting down the VM and then starting it back again.
