Operation Timed Out

Had a real DR issue where 2 Hyper-V VMs were in a "Saved-Critical" state and we could not boot them.

The end result was that we were able to just recover the configuration files and then could boot them properly.

However, the initial recovery process we tried was to recover "Entire VM". This process hung for about an hour showing "5/5 tasks remaining" and was at a status of 0% the entire time. After the hour, it failed and the Log tab showed "Operation Timed Out". We tried to copy the VEEAM Backup file to the local machine that was running recovery to alleviate any possibility of it being a network issue and encountered the same problem. We also ran the job under the same VEEAM Backup User that we utilize for our regular backup tasks.

The reason I do not expect that this was an I/O issue is because we did a test of just recovering the vhdx and config files and the entire process took 5 minutes to restore the same VM and the tasks/progress bar were working normally as expected.

Has anybody ran into this issue before?

Deeper logs investigation will tell the actual reasons of the restore failure. Chances are it was waiting for some infrastructure resource and timed out, but hard to guess having that little information.
