Dear all,
a brief search through the forum did not reveal any meaningful articles to me.
I have the task to migrate existing VMs from VMware ESXi to a new Hyper-V host. My question is: what all needs to be done within the VMs und within the VBR before I start the migration via the restore function? Any experiences with such a task among the users here?

Re: Planned Migration from VMware ESXi to MS Hyper-V
Hi Norbert
I assume you already have Veeam backups of your VMs on vSphere?
You can use Instant Recovery to migrate the backups to Hyper-V. We provide a list of considerations in our user guide:
https://helpcenter.veeam.com/docs/backu ... ml?ver=120
Basically it's not difficult todo the migration with our product.
1.) Connect your vSphere environment to the backup server
2.) Create backups of your vSphere VMs
3.) Connect your HyperV environment to the backup server
4.) Use Instant Recovery to start the recovery of your VMs as HyperV VMs
5.) Finalize the Instant Recovery session
6.) Create new backup jobs of your HyperV VMs
7.) Run the new backup job (You may have to revoke licenses from the vSphere VMs/ESXI Hosts first in the backup console)
8.) Uninstall VmWare Tools (cleaning up)
Let me know if you any questions about one of the steps. Step 1-7 are covered in our help center.
Best,
Fabian
