Problem with NAS credentials?

Post by meaftmsasl »

Hi there

Veeam ID#: 04851875

Good day

I have different tasks regarding backup and replication.

Now it is that some have a problem with the login on the NAS system (quite "standard", Windows file share emulation with Samba) where the backups should be stored.

Now I have seen that you can show a summary on the individual jobs under "Summary":

This task works:

*************************************************************
Name: VEEAM Backup Server (privat: 10.5.121.140)
Target Path: .5.121.30BackupVEEAM-BACKUPS-INTROVEEAM-INTRO
Type: Hyper-V Backup
Source items:
VEEAM Backup Server (privat 10.5.121.140) (INTRO-HV1)
Target repository: VEEAM-INTRO
Target repository host: use backup proxy
Target repository path: .5.121.30BackupVEEAM-BACKUPS-INTROVEEAM-INTRO

Command line to start the job on backup server:
"C:\Program Files\Veeam\Backup and Replication\Backup\Veeam.Backup.Manager.exe" backup 8cb9ea4f-390b-4eaa-92b5-802f0865748f
*************************************************************

This one, however, does NOT:

*************************************************************
Name: openproject
Target Path: .5.121.30ackupeeam-backups-introopenproject
Type: Hyper-V Backup
Source items:
Debian 10 "Buster" OpenProject (INTRO-HV1)
Target repository: Debian_10_Buster_OpenProject
Target repository host: use backup proxy
Target repository path: .5.121.30ackupeeam-backups-introopenproject

Command line to start the job on backup server:
"C:\Program Files\Veeam\Backup and Replication\Backup\Veeam.Backup.Manager.exe" backup 62cd917e-ae1c-492b-bd43-fe5b5628b463
*************************************************************

Question: Is there somewhere the possibility to show an "extended" log? (According to the staff, this used the correct login information...).

Many thanks for your feedbacks...

With kind regards from Switzerland,
Jan

Hi Jan,

The main entrance point for troubleshooting is the job statistics window. However, I strongly recommend to leave the root cause analysis including debug logs inspection to our support engineers.

Thanks!

Hello PetrM

Thank you very much for your feedback.

Our employees forgot to add "Use credentials" on the used entry in target repositories list, that's all... :-(

That should be "noreply@veeam.com; on behalf of; forum@veeam.com".
Worth checking if you was subscribed to the topic and if notifications are set under User Control Panel > Board Preferences > Edit Notification Options.

Almost all e-mail notifications are enabled by my own custom settings: https://i.ibb.co/SXmgY5j/afadfadfadfdf.jpg

But, maybe (i don't remember exactly), i created that before i've customized my settings. So: Where can i see which thread of me have a mail subscription?

Is this a smilar (credentials) problem when i want to create snapshots?

Log details text:

Failed to create VM recovery checkpoint (mode: Veeam application-aware processing) Details: Job failed ('Fehler beim Prüfpunktvorgang für "Debian 10 "Buster" OpenProject". Error code: '32770'. Failed to create VM recovery snapshot, VM ID '26162290-b589-4634-bf3b-2a2c30415cea'.
Retrying snapshot creation attempt (Failed to create production checkpoint.)
Task has been rescheduled
Queued for processing at 09.06.2021 11:50:18
Unable to allocate processing resources. Error: Job failed ('Fehler beim Prüfpunktvorgang für "Debian 10 "Buster" OpenProject". Maybe the reason is that i use quotes in the VM name -> Debian 10 "Buster" ?

Problem was also the missing authenentication, but after correcting it for using the (correct) credentials that was enabled which was leading to that error:

Hi Jan,

At first glance, the failure of checkpoint creation is not related to authentication at all. I'd suggest to check that Hyper-V Integration Services are started on the VM, in particular: Hyper-V Volume Shadow Copy Requestor. If the services are started, it will be better to raise a support request and to share case ID with us.

Thanks!
