Hi,
We installed an Hyper-V host on a branch office for DR purposes.
Our current Hyper-V host does have a dozen of VMs totaling about 7 TB of storage.
We also have a GB link for the office where about 8 TB of data is used each month based on the usage reports from the last months.
So far so good I decided to replicate my VMs to the remote location and set the replication interval to 30 secs.
All of our employees are accountants and are working with small data, mostly PDF and/or Excel files so not much is changing on the file server during the day, Veeam incremental files are about a few GB not more.
I assumed that, by the end of the month the total data transferred would not be more than 30 TB or so (users 8TB + initial sync of 7 TB + 30 secs replication, I thought 15 TB would be overkill but I was mistaken).
Anyway I did receive the bill this week and we had consumed 74 TB of bandwidth this month, how is that possible ? Is there a way we could know how much data Veeam is using when replicating ?
I know I can increase the delay but I would like to know why so much bandwidth is used.
Thanks in advance

Re: Replicating to DR uses too much TBs of data
I just checked and the replication is set at every 30 minutes not 30 seconds as previously stated.
So I am pretty lost on what to do now, maybe replicate the VMs with hyper-v directly will use less bandwidth ?

Forget that,
I am replicating now with Hyper-V and everything looks good.
Thanks
