Hi there,
I keep having issues with my replication jobs (since version-8). I have two standalone hyper-v servers. The job is running on the destination server, garbing the VMs from the source. My issue is that more often than not, the job fails with the following error:
1/7/2015 1:39:47 PM :: Task failed. Failed to expand object SourceSrvr. Error: The RPC server is unavailable. (Exception from HRESULT: 0x800706BA)
I opened a case with Veeam (Case # 00693200) a while back, but i still have no resolution. The interesting part is that, if i were to run an RPC ping during the reapplication job, the issue disappears. I stumbled upon this by accident. Basically, Veeam support had provided me with a powershell RPC ping (which outputs to a log), to see what it shows during the job. Oddly enough, the issue almost never occurred while running the RPC ping. Furthermore, the RPC pings NEVER miss a single ping.
If could PM a packet capture if one desires to see one.

Re: Replication Job Error: The RPC server is unavailable
Do you have any other error messages in the Windows Event log of the Hyper-V host?
