Replication of VM's between Hyper-V 2012R2 cluster and 2022 cluster!!!

Post by kunniyoor »

Replication between Hyper-V 2012R2 clustre and 2022 cluster

We are looking for option to migrate a big no of VM's in Hyper-V 2012R2 cluster to a new hardware platform configured with Hyper-V 2022 cluster. Currently, Hyper-V 2012R2 and 2022 are belongs to the same domain, and both setup is configured to use the same vLAN. As far as tested and figured out that, Live migration and move wont be possible in this senario. So we're thinking using quick migration or replication.

As like a magician, can VBR 11 will help us to achieve replication between the two different flavours of Hyper-V clusters?

Thanks in advance for sharing your thoughts :)

Yes, works fine. I have tested this a few weeks back. Also failover and failback works like a charm. Only need to perform a Configuration Version update after the final failover (from version 8.0 to 10.0)
