Restoring 1 of 2 File Servers

Post by rmccoy172 »

I have 2 File servers using DFSR both are VMs one is corrupted so I need to restore it using VEEAM. My question is the only good backup is from a day ago when I restore it will the old files overwrite any new ones in the file share?

Hello and welcome to the forums Ryan,

If one server is still up, I'd recommend to deploy a brand new machine and add it to DFSR to sync the data with the existing node. Single node restore may cause more damage due to the file version conflicts (restore point of the second node is now older that alive node). Here is the thread related to DFSR Best Practices. Hope it helps!
