Re: Retention Policy
Hi,
With the restore points to keep 7 in Forward Incremental backup chain, for example, you will have 14 RPs at max.
Please check this very useful KB1799: Animated Retention Policies\Modes.
Thanks!

Re: Retention Policy
Hi,
So they used 3 days in the animated example, for me then if i have undderstood correctly....
Sun - Full
Mon - Inc
Tue - Inc
Wed - Inc
Thur - inc
Fri - inc
Sat - Inc
Sun - Full - after this full job completes it delete's everything prior
So to achieve this i set the days to keep to 6, the subsequent Sunday full will be the 7th day so will complete and then remove everything from Sat back, leaving just that Sunday full on disk before starting its incrementa chain again the next night?

Re: Retention Policy
Nope.
The retention policy can remove backups only if it guarantees that you will stay with 6 restore points after (1 full + 5 increments).
Thanks!
