SCVMM 2019
Does anyone know if Veeam Supports SCVMM 2019.
I have upgraded but Veeam keeps saying the below, no matter how many times I close and open the console.
---------------------------
Veeam Backup and Replication
---------------------------
Veeam Backup & Replication server does not have Virtual Machine Manager Administrator Console installed.
If you installed VMM Console while Veeam Backup & Replication UI was open, please restart the UI.
---------------------------
OK

Re: SCVMM 2019
Hi Craig,
It's officially unsupported version, since it was released in March 2019 and we haven't been able to run tests against the new version of the product.
You can find the list of supported versions on the Platform Support page in the User Guide.
Thanks!

Re: SCVMM 2019
Dmitry,
Is there any ETA on when testing with VMM 2019 may be completed?
I am asking because although Veeam supports Hyper-V on Server 2019, VMM 1807 does not. The only road block on updating our hosts to Server 2019 is updating our VMM to 2019 and the only thing we're waiting on to update VMM is for Veeam to support VMM 2019.
Thanks.

Re: SCVMM 2019
So I upgraded VMM in place because I have 2019 hosts I needed to get VMM support for, not realizing it wouldn't work. I can see in the logs this error:
Any chance there's a way to tell Veeam to ignore the version and connect anyway?<09> Error SCVMM server version (10.19.1013.0) is not supported. (Veeam.Backup.HVAPI.SCVMM.CPsException)

Hey,
The support for the SCVMM 2019 is on our roadmap, but I cannot share any ETA.
According to our own experience, running tests against the GA code of a product takes us from 1 to 3 months. Thanks!

Re: SCVMM 2019
As far as Hyper-V goes, support for SCVMM 2019 should be a high priority IMHO since you already have support for Server 2019 as a host and guest OS. I've reviewed a lot of Microsoft's documentation and if Veeam is leveraging the PowerShell modules from the SCVMM Admin Console installation there doesn't appear to be a lot of difference between 1807 and 2019, no major calls deprecated or fundamentally changed, just additions for the new functionality.
I really hope that testing takes closer to that 1 month time frame because Server 2019 as a host OS, and just a Server OS in general, appears to be leaps and bounds better than Server 2016 in many areas based on my experience so far and upgrading our Hyper-V clusters is high on my To Do list, and probably is for most customers running Hyper-V environments with SCVMM management.

Re: SCVMM 2019
I updated Veeam 9.5 update 4 to update 4a yesterday, updated our SCVMM 1807 installation to SCVMM 2019 today and then ran a test replication job with Veeam and everything worked great.
Now I get to look forward to doing rolling cluster upgrades from Server 2016 to Server 2019 on our Hyper-V clusters, fun fun fun.

Did anyone update their SCVMM already and would they be able to share their results?
Thanks in advance.

Re: SCVMM 2019
Hi Maurice,
SCVMM 2019 UR1 has not been verified with v10 in our QC labs yet, but this is definitely on our to-do list. Usually, minor releases and update rollups do not bring any significant changes to the core parts of SCVMM so we do not expect anything to break in backups after installing UR1.
Thanks
