Server 2012 R2 freezes during Veeam backup with DCOM error

Hi,

I have exactly the same problem!
But I am using Hyper-V instead of Vmware.
The error is the same.

I had 2 support cases on that.
But support cannot solve the issue.
Last time I increased one partition of the effected VM and since then it didn't failed again. Until last weekend.


I get a lot of Dcom errors and some hours later the VM is stucked.
Only a kill of the worker process on the hyper-V host will initiate a reboot of the effected VM (it happend only on one VM, Exchange server).

I have no more ideas...

case IDs were: 00953780 and 01083894

Last night the backup worked well again.

I see that both cases are closed, since the VM was successfully backed up. I would suggest to submit the latest logs to our support team, so that they could find the correlation between these 3 occurrences. Meanwhile, what do these DCOM errors say? Did you try to google these IDs?

Sorry ... forgot that thread here.

Since the last problem the freeze didn't happen again.
The only thing I changed was the upgrade of our virus scanner (trend micro) on the effected VM (exchange server).

Antivirus locks can indeed cause these issues, as a solution for this next time you see it try to exclude Veeam processes from scanning, should help.
