Service cannot start. Dotnet Strong Name

Post by BillCosbyDrinks »

Case #06027489

Veeam Backup & Replication service cannot be started. The Veeam B&R referenced assembly libraries are not signed with a Strong Name. We are not permitted to configure AllowStrongNameBypass. How can we get this service started again?

Windows Server 2016 LTSC Build 14393.5850
B&R 11.0.1.1261 P20230227
.Net Client 4.7.03062
.Net Full 4.7.03062

Service cannot be started. System.IO.FileLoadException: Could not load file or assembly 'Veeam.Backup.ProxyProvider, Version=11.0.0.0, Culture=neutral, PublicKeyToken=bfd684de2276783a' or one of its dependencies. Strong name validation failed. (Exception from HRESULT: 0x8013141A)

Hi William and Welcome to Veeam R&D Forums!

We cannot troubleshoot technical issues effectively over the forum posts, it would be best to let our support team to work on it. I'm pretty sure they will find a solution soon enough.

Thanks!

Hello William,

Please mention issue 491286 and support case 05938479 to your technical support contact.
From the log snippet it looks like we do already have a private fix ready, it will help them find it.

Thanks
