Single Backup File in Cloud Repository

Post by Rikuto »

Hey,

is it still possible to create a single backup file in a cloud provider repository?
On our cloud providers side per-vm backup files are disabled for the repository.
And since we can't edit this setting on the tenant side it seems not possible?

I'm pretty sure your service provider should have per-vm enabled.
Have they told you this is disabled?

Hello folks,

Correct the setting how the backup files are placed in the repository should be controlled in service provider's B&R infrastructure. Check the repository properties here:

We manage the cloud provider side aswell.
The setting has been disabled since the server was set up in 2020.
We recently upgraded to 12.1 and noticed it with the first new customer.

I guess it is a bug?

Rikuto,

The upgrade logic respects the settings you have configured in the product. Is it possible to change the settings manually? Please keep in mind that you would need to detach existing backup chains with single backup file to start a new per-vm backup chains after the setting is modified.
