small remote site design. proxy or not

Post by petitbleu »

I have two remote sites with hyper-v with a vm on one site and the second three. With vmware I usually make a virtual proxy so that it manages the backup. But the recommendation for the off site proxy on hyper-v is a physical server.
Is it better to do without proxy or with a proxy in vm because I will not add a physical machine for that. Thank you very much

Hi Manuel

You don‘t have to add another proxy for the remote location.

With HyperV, you have On-Host and Off-Host proxies.
We recommend to use on-host proxies. Your Hyper-V server in the remote location will have that role when you add the hyperv server to Veeam.

Thanks
