SureBackup Memory allocated

Post by archambeaud »

Hi,

I'm currently testing Veeam and I'm impressed by the power of functionalities.

Then I have a question about the SureBackup process.

The VM created to run the backup version allocates only 1Gb of memory, even if the settings into the virtual lab allow to use 100% of the host memory.

Is there a settings somewhere to change this settings or the 1Gb IS the 100% ? Or I have missed a settings into hyper-v ?

Because with 1Gb it's too low to start server with SQL for example.

I have already searched into the forum and googling the web without success.

Thanks

David

Hi, David,

The described behavior doesn't look expected. VB&R should assign the same amount of RAM that VM was backed up with.

Also, there might be some misunderstanding over the said percentage setting. This settings has nothing to do with percentage of host memory, but rather with percentage of the "original" memory that verified VM can use. So, please, double check whether you haven't set small percentage. If not, feel free to open a ticket with our support team.

Thanks.

Hi,

Thanks for your response. In the meantime I have done some tests and understood from where comes these 1Gb.

My VM are configured to use dynamic memory with 1Gb at startup. I have tried to put startup memory to 2Gb and now SureBackup allocates 2Gb to the VM.

It's ok for me, I will adapt my VM in this way.

Thanks

David
