SureBackup Performance
Hi everyone,
i have a StoreEasy 1650 with RAID5 connected via 1Gbit LAN to my "Devcenter" which has more RAM.
When i start my "Sharepoint Prod" to this Devcenter at first everything is ok.. but the longer this Lab runs the slower it gets. The transfer speed is at ~35MB/s.
Which is not enough for 6 machines
I want to perform the CU Update there before i try it "live". Is there any way to fasten the transfer speed?
Best regards
Stephan

Re: SureBackup Performance
Hi Stephan, typically the bottleneck for SureBackup performance is the backup storage. So getting faster disks (with better random read capabilities) is usually recommended.

Re: SureBackup Performance
Ok. I will try to add more RAM to test it on the backup server to test the performance of the disks.
Faster disks for backup .. i cannot sell this I have 12x4TB 7.2K in a RAID5 for Backup.

Re: SureBackup Performance
Adding more RAM will not help, since performance of the SureBackup jobs depends on the IOPs performance of your storage. Here is an existing topic with a similar question > SureBackup is very slow. How can I improve it?

Re: SureBackup Performance
Did not see that ... is the transport over SMB the same that VeeamAgent.exe uses?
C:\diskspd> diskspd.exe -b512K -h -d600 \\nas\share\VeeamBackups\Job\Job2014-01-23T012345.vbk
I will try it after my current surebackup completes
