Unable to back up VM while pass through disk is attached.

I know Veeam will not back up the pass through disk, I am fine with that.
But I can not get Veeam to back up the VM and vhd for a VM that has a pass through disk attached. From what I read, it should automatically ignore the pass through disk. But it doesn't.

The backup fails every time with error.

I tried forcing the exclusion in the job properties, but it still fails with the same error.
Also, I tried attaching it as an ide disk instead of scsi and got similar error.

The last time I tried to post this the moderator denied the post because they didn't have the log files. Well, I can't attach the log files to this posting. So I will send them to support in a separate email.

Hi all, hope someone can help, i have a call logged in veeam but no response yet

we have a hyperv vm that is failing to back up, it is a 2008 R2 VM with a 3TB Pass Thru disc
i have excluded all disks apart from the Host OS drive IDE0:0

it fails whilst initiating the snapshot with the error no vhd disk extent for disk ....number

any ideas any one ?
