Howdy,
Has anyone seen this error message before?
We are proof of concept testing Hyper-V in place of VMware.
We built a 2-node Hyper-V cluster connected via ISCSI to our SAN, added the cluster to Veeam, setup a Cluster Protection Group. We can backup its test VMs just fine.
The issue we run into is when we go to restore this VM (or even an instant restore from our VMware backups) to Hyper-V and select to make the VM a cluster resource we get this error:
"Unable to register VM Test as cluster resource. There is no CSV found for the cluster HVCluster01.domain.com."
If we dont select this option, then we can restore the VM directly to a node, but it does not show up in the Cluster. Seems like it is restored just to a single node.
We do have an existing case (Case # 07453502).
Thanks!

Re: "Unable to register VM Test as cluster resource. There is no CSV found for the cluster
Hi Alan,
Thank you for sharing the case number -- I can see there was a bit of confusion on the intended operation, but I think Support should be on the same page now that this is about restoring into a Hyper-V cluster.
Please continue working with support, as regrettably there can be a few causes for a message like this (permissions, anti-virus blocking the registration steps, etc), and after checking briefly with Support, looks like there may be a lead in the logs, but the Engineer will update soon.
