Upgrade Veeam database from 2008 to 2012

Post by Ultra_Cool »

Hello,

We had Veeam v7 and we upgrade it to V8. When we did that we had option to use existing or to create new instance. We choose to use existing and now if we want to restore for example sharepoint we got error. What is the best practice to upgrade veeam database? Shall we use installation iso file and run installation one more time or we can do that on another way?

Hello,
Do you mean SQL Database upgrade on the Backup Server?
You can use installation .iso and choose "Upgrade from SQL 2008" in the installation Wizard. And as foggy suggested in the related topic, it`s recommended to make a configuration backup heretofore. Thanks!

You just need to manually upgrade SQL Server itself. No need to run setup, Veeam B&R will detect the upgraded instance.
