Using custom properties for tags

It's well known/advised to use tags for for defining backup job groups, but wondered if there was anyway to use the custom properties within SCVMM as well to define jobs?

Reason I ask is that the default Tag in SCVMM is already used by us , internally, for cost centers or products. We'd like to use the custom properties, as they offer a little bit more flexability.

Are there any options or plans for this?

Hi Craig,

Custom properties cannot be used by backup jobs today. Not sure these will be supported in the short-term future either.

You can involve some scripting to get this working though.
