Hi,
We have different teams(companies) manage Hyper-V and Veeam backup, for Veeam an Administrator account is needed to function, is there way to use non (local/domain) administrator accounts to backup a Hyper-V environment? Like with VMware/vCenter https://www.veeam.com/blog/vcenter-leas ... model.html
Or can you run the Veeam components for Hyper-V under a service account and disable the administrator account after installing and still able to make backups? Is that an option and is this explained somewhere?
An advice for me.
Thank you,
grz, Jeroen

Re: Using privileged accounts with Hyper-V
Hello,
and welcome to the forums.
The user guide is correct. (local) administrator privileges are required and there is no workaround (except agents or migrating to VMware)
Administrator permissions are required to execute VSS.
Best regards,
Hannes
