Hello, just installed Veeam free server for the first time for testing, i have an alert for 3 different Hyper-V hosts added to Veeam, They all show "One or more critical updates are missing" ... and listing

All 3 hosts are Server 2012 R2, fully updated (with critical and recommended updates, only silver light not installed), manually downloading the updates (x64 versions) in question and attempting to install them fails with "This update is not applicable to your computer"

just created new host server 2012 r2, fully updated and now beside the 2 initial ones also received missing KB2919442. Once again downloading manually and attempting to installs says it is not applicable

Yes, there could be different definition IDs for this fixed from Microsoft, thus this check informs you about missing updates. We will update this topic once more info is available.

+1 for this issue. Three fully patched Hyper-V 2012 Servers, but Veeam is reporting that all servers have one or more updates that are needed.

And i you don't want to wait for up to a week for B&R to pull the new update definition file, you can download it directly from our web site, and save it over the existing file in the B&R installation folder > http://dev.veeam.com/backup/vbrupdate.vdf

I searched in \Program Files\Veeam\Backup & Replication (and all subfolders), but an old version of this file you provided, doesn't exist anywhere in there. Neither in Program Files (x86). Where should it go?

So how I force Veeam to require it? I have rescanned all the hosts for updates, and it keeps reporting updates missing, and this file still does not exist. I just want to get rid of these false missing update notifications now.

Ok, I was able to find the file \ProgramData\Veeam.

I deleted the file that was there, then rescanned. No, instead of ~15 updates for each fully patched VM host, 2 updates for each VM host is returned. Though again, Windows Update on each host is reporting that "There are no applicable updates" when scanning for All updates.

Hi,

VEEAM B&R v8 notifies us of missing critical updates in Windows related to backups. Cool feature but it seems to give me a false possitive for KB2966407 which is already installed on the W2K12R2 cluster nodes. On another cluster it only warns for 2 of of 3 nodes.

Is this a know issue? Any fix coming? I know I can disablethese notifications but that seems to defeat the purpose.

Didier, please contact support with this. We need to verify whether the reported update is superseded by some other package (e.g. update rollup) and then we can update our definitions to avoid this false positive. Thanks.

Btw, how do you tell the update is already installed? Do you see it in the list of all installed updates or you've tried to install it and got the corresponding message?

Same issue here. Plus the latest update broke Veeam anyway, so can't really do much now.

Both updates are not required if KB2919355 patch is installed and I believe the latest definitions should address this. I will check though.

It turns out that it was fixed but then the wrong copy of update definitions was uploaded. It will be re-uploaded as soon as possible. Sorry for inconvenience and thanks for letting us know.

I too am now experiencing this on a clustered Windows 2012 R2 environment with Veeam 8 Patch 1. Both hosts are fully updated and when attempting to manually install the KB2966407 update it states that it does not apply to this system. What is the issue, I tried grabbing the definitions in the link above and re-scanned, but got the same results.

also done a new install of the server and when connected, giving 3 errors, even all updates are installed.
i believe dismissing it is secure? As I am new to Veeam.
