V9 update to V11 Success but another message
Hi,
we are running Veeam free edition with a script, everything works fine but after updating to V11 there is an Message we receive which we do not understand:
old:
V9 message after backup:
"Success | Using source proxy (on host)"
new:
V11 message after backup:
"Success | Creating VM recovery checkpoint (mode: Crash consistent)
Any idea?

Hello,
This message says that Veeam failed over from online mode to the crash consistent one to prepare a VM for backup, you may refer to this page to get more information about possible ways to quiesce VMs. It's difficult to say what is the problem with online backup, you may look for corresponding errors from VSS in Windows event logs on the VM itself or to contact our support team.
Thanks!

Hi!
Thank you for the answer, I understand now. But how can I change it to "onhost" in "Vladimir Eremin" Script?

I found this: "If online backup cannot be performed, Veeam Backup & Replication fails over to the crash-consistent backup."
But why doesnt work? Is there any log file for the script?

The reason for the failover can be found in the job logs, support can assist you with reading those.

Thank you for sharing the case! You can find the logs in %ProgramData%\Veeam\Backup or you can export entire log bundle via export logs utility. Cheers!

Hi Max,
Please do not post entire log snippets in public - they do contain IP addresses, server\domain names, used account names etc. Upload logs to your support case instead.
You can cut off exact log line, making sure it does not contain any private info to share on forum.
/Thanks!
