Veeam 8 very slow to respond

I wonder if anyone can help on this one?

I have a single HP DL360 gen9 server with 2012 Hyper-V installed. On this I have a single 2012 R2 VM

I have installed Veeam 8 Enterprise at the Hyper-V level

When I try to configure a backup by scanning for vm's it can take 10 minutes to find it. Likewise, when I run a job it can take 15 minutes before it starts

I have 6 x 300Gb 15K disks in a raid 5 internal to the DL360. It has 6 a single six core cpu and 16Gb ram. The VM is a DC and file server for 20 users

I can't believe its a resource issue. Task Manager shows nothing being thrashed. The Hyper V server is in a workgroup and not joined to the domain hosted on the VM

Any thoughts greatly appreciated

Simon, have you contacted technical support with this? Job logs should tell what it is trying to do all this time.
