Veeam 9.5 Update 4a and backups stalling using Nimble Storage

Long time user and first time poster. We currently have following at the moment:

Windows server 2012 R2 Cluster consisting of 8 nodes servicing VMs
All storage is on a Nimble CS Array serving the nodes via 10GB ethernet

Backup server currently running Veeam B&R 9.5 Update 3 and off-hosting backups to itself however this relates to Update 4a.

So currently we are running Update 3 and our cluster is backing up just fine using Off-host proxy (backup server has san connectivity directly). We performed an upgrade to Update 4a recently and that was smooth (we did have issues with esxi 5.0 being the essentials but the hotfix had resolved that). When we run the backups on our cluster using off host proxy, we see that they run and then get to about 60 - 80% percent complete and then the job doesn't fail but looks as if it deadlocks the job (essentially doing nothing). Forcing a stop of the job doesn't do anything either until we restart the backup server.

On- host works fine for this cluster. Firstly, has anyone done this upgrade with a nimble storage system and have it working successfully. I also tried a spare server connected to the san and the same issue happens (so that is a clean install).

I spoke to support and gave them the logs but they cannot explain as to whats happening. I had to revert back to update 3 for now to keep off-host proxying working. This is our main backup server and would like to upgrade to ensure we are current.

Yes, this setup has been working just fine until the 4 update months ago

Well, this does not indicate anything. Something may have changed on the infra end and that started causing issues.

If all the pre-requisites are triple-checked and met but the error still persists please escalate the case and keep working with the support team on the issue.

Has anyone got further with this issue? I am trying Veeam 9.5 Update 4b now and I will post the results when possible

That would be much appreciated. However, we haven't heard of any issues in this regard, so might be something environment-specific - working closely with support to track it down is typically recommended in such cases.
