Veeam B&R Setup error

I am attempting to install Veeam B&R on a Windows Server 2019 with SQL Server Express 2008, however setup will halt on system requirements checks:

Apparently it is possible to install Veeam B&R on SQL Server Express editions.... or?

Hi,

Try installing the required prerequisites manually and re-run the setup. On a side note, do you have another application already installed on that computer which is using SQL Server 2008?

Yes there is a database being used by other clients!

Ok, so there is no way to upgrade the SQL Server. Were you able to install the prereqs manually?
