Veeam Backup 8 Backing up whole 2012R2 VM after upgrade

Hi Guys,

We upgraded to V8 this morning. The upgrade went fine and I have a quick question :

Is that normal that Windows 2012 R2 VM are skipping CBT and doing full backup and not incremental? 2008R2 Servers are getting backed up as expected. (Full read of VM after upgrade but incremental backup)

David, you're correct, full VM data is read, but incremental backup is expected after the upgrade, given the same VM is backed up (VM ID not changed). I would suggest to review job logs with the help of support to identify the reason of this behavior.

Btw, do you have these 2012 R2 and 2008 R2 servers in the same job?

I have jobs with 2012 R2 alone and Jobs with 2012 R2 with 2008 R2 and both have the exact same problem :

RDS is 208R2 and is backing up as normal

How about subsequent runs? Do they use CBT?

Subsequent runs are working as expected with reverse incremental working properly.

Could it be a display issue on the report on the first run? My backup repository had only 30gb free but my exchange server showed read 500gb write 272gb.
