Veeam Backup and Replication v10 update and reboot information

Hi,
Our veeam server runs veeam backup and replication 9.5.4. We are planning to upgrade veeam server to v10. We have backup jobs on Hyper-V cluster. Our Hyper-V cluster compenents Veeam Backup Transport , Veeam Hyper-V Integration ,Veeam Installer Service versions 9.5.4.2866. If we upgrade veeam to v10 do we need Hyper-V host servers reboot after upgrade compenents?

I have checked this topic but there is no information about reboot status after upgrade companents.

Hi Murat,

Usually, the reboot is not required, but in certain circumstances, if some of the underlying components such as .Net need to be updated the reboot may be required.

I want to share my little experience, we also recently switched to the tenth version, when updating, we did not need to restart the server.

Thanks for sharing your experience. Glad to see it went smoothly for you.

I'd like to add that there are a lot of dependencies. Some files that need to be changed may be locked by other processes, windows updates may be preventing installing certain components, etc.

Hi,
We upgraded Veeam Server version to 10v then our Hyper-V Host Servers which are backup via Veeam compenents, not need reboot. But veeam agent backups need reboot after agent upgrade progress.

Additional information about v10 , After agent upgrade you must reboot servers from Veeam console not at server desktop.
