Veeam fails to get VM ip address
Really have no clue. VM is in VMM as green, everything OK. VM works fine.
When trying Application Aware Processing it returns error:
Collecting guest OS info (failed).
Failed to get VM'S IP addresses

Re: Veeam fails to get VM ip address
Do you have integration services installed on this VM?

Re: Veeam fails to get VM ip address
Do you have all roles enabled? Can you try to add Hyper-V host as standalone and back up this VM with AAIP option enabled? Do you see the same issue?

Re: Veeam fails to get VM ip address
What roles enabled? This same VM was backing up fine yesterday. I might try adding the same host as standalone later, but this doesn't make sense at all.

Re: Veeam fails to get VM ip address
Integration services have different roles. You can check that via Hyper-V manager by opening VM settings. If this VM was backed up properly last night, then please open a support case and let our technical team investigate the issue.
Not exactly. If VM is backed up successfully via standalone connection, then it must be something with VMM server and troubleshooting steps should be focused on this component.4c7 wrote:I might try adding the same host as standalone later, but this doesn't make sense at all.

[MERGED] Failed to get VM's IP addresses
Hi!
We have an Hyper-V (Server2016) Host with 4 VM's running, trying to backup with application aware processing.
Checking the credentials, droping out "Collecting guest OS info. Error: Failed to get VM's IP addresses."
In this configuration the guests are not on the same subnet as the host machine, they are isolated at 2 different VLANs.
All integration services are installed.
Do I have to forward certain services or ports to these two VLANS?
Many Thanks for your help!
Christoph

Re: Failed to get VM's IP addresses
Hi Christoph and welcome to the community!
You should check whether mentioned ports are open for proper communication with the services.
Please review this thread as it contains useful considerations about the same issue. Thanks!

How did you resolve this error? We have the same problem (Case # 03527696).
