Veeam HV Integration error.

Post by crandall348 »

My server is Windows 2008 SP2

The install completes with no errors. When I launch Veeam Backup & Replication, I go to Microsoft Hyper-V and choose to Add Server. Authentication all goes through, but when it gets to the results page it fails at: Installing package VeeamHvIntegration.msi Error: Installation completed with errors.

It then says below it Failed to install missing packages: Installation completed with errors. See Install log. At the SAME time, Microsoft Windows kicks out an error that says Veeam Hyper-V Integration Service has stopped working.

Is it a missprint or you use Hyper-V on Win2008 without R2?
That type of server is not supported.

This is from a representative at Veeam:

Here is the response to your question that I got from one of our Systems Engineers. I hope this answers your question.

“yes, we support the 64 bit version of 2008 SP2 as an install target for Veeam”

Install target - yes, Hyper-V platform to backup VMs on - no. 2008 R2 SP1 is the minimum required version.
