Veeam Replication and WAN Accelerator

Can I use the WAN accelerator with a replication job? If not what are the optimal settings and what is the minimum bandwidth required to have a successful replication?

Hello Eric,

Currently WAN accelerators can only be used by backup copy jobs, but we are looking to adding WAN acceleration functionality to replication jobs in future releases. As to your question, then make sure you have two proxy servers installed (one on source side, another one on the target location). This will minimize VM data sent over the WAN link due to VM traffic compression.

BTW, are you using Hyper-V hosts? I didn't pay attention to this fact, my bad. If yes, then optimal data transfer is achieved by Veeam transport services that are automatically installed on the Hyper-V hosts. See our User Guide for Hyper-v (page 72). Thanks!
