Virtual Lab

Post by Ultra_Cool »

We are using Veeam 6.5 and i have installed Enterprise manager to recover active directory. I didnt know that I need this to be able to recover this (Active directory items). Now when I want to restore items I get that I create virtual lab. Everything should be good but when I come to that part in (Enterprise manager) that I approve request I get stuck on choose backup for VM. I can't see anything there and I need to press cancel?

Any ideas?

Currently, virtual lab functionality is available for VMware only. It will be available for Hyper-V with the release of v7 coming out later this year. Meanwhile you can use Instant Recovery to start your DC in an isolated network for restores.

And here are the other cool v7 features, just in case you missed them.

Hi Foggy,

But how can I restore deleted object (or anything) in Active Directory (Item-level restore) if I can't use VIrtual Lab?

Built-in AD item-level recovery for Hyper-V environments is not available in v6.5. However, I believe you can use some third-party tools to restore items from the instantly recovered VM.

Okej, good to know that. We have dpm also in our environment so we are protected but we want to use veeam instead. Last question: Is it the same for sql ect. when performing item-level restore

Yes, SQL AIR for Hyper-V will be also available in v7.
