VSS Config for VEEAM

Hi,

We have a file server of 5TB and the server is configured with volume shadow copy. This server is running on WIN 2012 R2 Hyper-V

Now, when we trigger a VEEAM Backup to disk the job starts running without any error and after few minutes the file server stops responding, all the users get disconnected from the shared drive but the job keeps on running. We will have to stop the job and restart the Hyper-V host itself to bring back the File server.

Please help me in resolving this issue.

Are you using software or hardware VSS provider? Do you see any similar issues on other VMs?

Hello,

We are not using any hardware VSS provider. File server is a virtual machine running on Win2012 R2 Hyper-V host configured with Microsoft Shadow copy for shared folders.

What events do you have in the Windows Event log at the time when your users are disconnected from the shared drive? Any error or warning messages?

Sorry for the delayed response.

I am triggering the job today let me observe the event logs and will let you regarding the events when the user gets disconnected from the shared drives.

Hi,

I got the issue resolved by support team.

The problem was due to network traffic and the storage was not able to give that many I/O ps.
