Bottleneck on all machines at 16:00pm

Post by Benyon35 »

ESX4.1 - vcenter 4
We have a bottle neck happening on our VDI estate at 4 pm everday.
I need to try to identify what process is causing this.

How can I monitor the VDI hosts / VDI guests at this time to identify the cause.

Thanks

Hello Darren,

These servers are monitored by Veeam ONE as a regular VMware VMs. What type of bottle neck you are seeing on your VDI estate? Is it related to disk system or memory resources or whatever else? I would recommend you investigating performance graphs of your ESX hosts in order to narrow down what type of resources are over utilized.

On a side note, we do not have special logic to monitor in-guest processes - we do show them on Processes tab within Veeam ONE Monitor client, but we do not perform alarm monitoring on this matter.

Please give us a bit more details on what you have everyday at 4 pm, so we could propose the resolution.

On top of that, what kind of alarms you have at this time everyday? To see this, please navigate to alarms tab and apply "time" filters accordingly.

I bet, that is your backup administrator who is running backup jobs at this time every day :)
