Post by albertwt »

Hi,

Can anyone here please share the way to change the date time in the VeeamONE monitor email alert from MM/DD/YYYY into DD/MM/YYYY ?

Thanks, 8)

Hi Albert,
It might be anchored in accordance to your local system`s date and time format. I`ll ask developer team to clarify it and let you know.
Does system date and time format match Veeam One`s? Thanks.

Thanks Shestakov,

My time and regional format has been set to Australia hence the system time stamp is using DD/MM/YYYY it would be good to change it accordingly so that to minimise confusion.

Dev. team confirmed that date format matches system date format and can not be changed.
As far as I know date format in Australia is dd/mm/yyyy, is Veeam One using different format?
Thanks

Are your Veeam server and SQL server have same date format(dd/mm/yyyy) as well?
It can`t be changed manually, but let`s see if it`s a bug or not.

How to check it in those two servers ?
Which options ?

Well, those are servers where your Veeam One and SQL servers are installed.
Sometimes Veeam One server is installed in one country, while client in another with a different date and time format. Or they could be in the same country, but on servers using different date formats.

Hi,

Would this be as simple as changing the language options in the SQL server advanced settings to British English? If so, what are the implications for VBR and Veeam One? I too have the problem of the strange and horrible date format of MM/DD/YY and it is, well, horrible. I would like to change this ASAP.

Not sure Adrian. Does it requires server restart or service downtime to make it in effect ?
I haven't tried that, perhaps someone from Veeam know what the side effect of doing this step ?

It should be simple,
In open Windows Control panel > Region and choose a desired format. Changes will be implemented after Veeam services restart.
No side effect.

No, this isn't about server settings. This is about the SQL settings. And to get the date in the correct regional format requires a change to the language on the DB. So what impact will this have on all the data in the VBR tables? How will it impact historical data as well as the application (VBR console)?

yes I agree withyou Adrian.

@Nikita: I've already changed the Regional settings but still it is not changing the timestamp.

Adrian, I`m a bit confused here. I`ve just double-checked with developers and they confirmed that date format for email alerts is chosen in accordance with Veeam One Server service format. Check if the service is logged on as Local System/Local Server.
By the way, why are you sure it`s not Server, but SQL settings?

Another possible source of confusion can be caused by the time difference.
Could you specify what kind of email alert we are talking about? Thanks.

Nikita S is correct; now I'm fully understand :-)

it turns out that the Service Account that is currently running the VeeamONE monitor server & Report service is using AD account which was still configured using the wrong Regional Settings.

Solution: Change the Windows Regional Settings to what you need from Windows Control Panel to change the time stamp.

Hope this helps.

No worries Nikita,

The Veeam suite v8.0 patch 1 is now working smoothly without issues at all in my environment.

Send my regards to the Veeam team for such a great software suite :-) b
