E-Mail Notification for Business View

I know there is a Default E-mail Notification Template that can be Edited for all Alarms.
is there a way to use a separate E-Mail Template for Business View Groups?
I want to customise separate text for default alarms and a separate text for groups in the Business View Groups.
Any ideas?

Welcome to the forum, SaiyadRa!

Currently, the email template configuration is applied globally to all notifications initiated by the "Mission Critical" policy and does not depend on the alarm assignment which can be a logical Business View container or a real piece of the infrastructure.

By the way, what would be your use-case? What kind of text/template would you use for Business View groups? And why?

Hi,
I am look at creating Separate individual Business Groups for Production SQL Servers, Prod Application Servers, File Servers, Domain Controllers etc.

Each of these Business Groups Alarms/Alerts will be sent to Level One Support.
For this Reason, we want to have specific instructions for them to follow, perform Level One support and send the ticket to the appropriate Team.

For example, Alarms for SQL Servers will have instruction specific to SQL troubleshooting and Application Servers Alarms will have separate instructions for App troubleshooting etc

Hence, need to have separate Templates for separate Business Groups.
Should have the ability Add Test in the Templates to add instructions for the Teams.

Hi,

As far as custom email templates for Business View groups go, I'm afraid VONE cannot cover you here just yet, but we'll treat this as a feature request.

This being the case, I think your objective of notifying specific Business Group owners is feasible.
As far as I understand from your description, your infrastructure is comprised mostly of VMs.
In that case you could group your machines under certain conditions (e.g. name contains 'sql')



and then assign a group owner with their email address:



Then you'd be able to set a number of desired alarms to be sent to Business View group owners:



To clarify, they will be sent with the default email template, however now you can have control over particular recipients of specific alarms.

What version of VOne are you using cause I am using version 10 and things look a bit different.

All the screenshots and instructions are from version 11, but all the described functionality also exists in v10.
